CooperVision India, in partnership with the India Vision Institute (IVI), continues its nationwide vision screening initiative as part of the One Bright Vision program. The event coincided with World Optometry Day on March 23 to create awareness about global vision care.
In Pune, 112 children received free eyeglasses and more than 3,300 vision screenings were organized by IVI in collaboration with the PBMA’s H. V. Desai Eye Hospital.
“We are pleased to be a part of the initiative with IVI in delivering vision care to underprivileged children across the country,” said CooperVision India Director Arnab Sarkar. “The campaign has covered several states and regions of India.”
The initiative continued on March 28 when nearly 50 children from Ahmedabad and its suburbs received free glasses and vision screenings at the Samjuba Vidhyamandir Govindvadi.
CooperVision India Business Development Manager Vinay Bandekar and Area Sales Manager Sachin Ambulkar participated in the effort. So far, 2,645 children in need have been screened in Ahmedabad.
Launched in September 2017, the One Bright Vision initiative in India aims to screen and provide free glasses to more than 22,000 children across the country.
